My daughter was evaluated at her school for her to start in the resource program many of you might know this as RSP or having an IEP set up so she can get the extra help she needs in school. I myself was in this as well as my husband. The meeting that we went to explaining if she does need the extra help said she in fact does need it and they also evaluated her for ADD/ADHD and they can see that she falls into that category. So being scared of putting her on medications mainly because of them being so chemically icky and toxic and because I've heard bad stories about them. So as a mama bear I put my foot down and said NO she will NOT be on medication and lose out on her beautiful unique one of a kind self. So I have been doing research and we started out by changing her diet as well as ours which is a plus for all of us for so many reasons anyways so she eats less processed foods and this goes for our son as well they both aren't allowed candies or cakes or anything like that unless it a special occasion and even then it's limited. Just the other day I started the kiddos on the Ultimate Omega Junior which is the child version of fish oil so far I've seen in her a little bit of a change. But i'm not totally convinced as of yet. I want to try out some essential oils out as well and I just found a great site for them here http://www.nativeamericannutritionals.com/. They are a bit pricey but seeing as how most cheap things aren't what they say they are when they are that cheap. I'd pay that much for them if it's going to help her out without having to put her on those horrid pills. Will update more when it's been longer than a few days on the fish oil.

So to go along with my last post I'm going to share this. Just because it says natural doesn't mean it is. The picture above explains the difference. And I can say that I agree with it. The saying goes If it's made in the garden, eat it. If it's made in the lab then it takes a lab to digest. If it has a shelf life longer than you then don't eat it! I think this goes along with what we put on our bodies as well as what we are putting inside our bodies. So to be on the safe side I'm going to stick with the things that say organic rather than the ones that say "100% natural" and if I can't find that then I guess I will just have to do without! Well, I really don't feel happy with how my hair is like I do when I use the no poo method. In all honesty. I really like just being able to quickly wash my hair and then condition it then wash my body rinse and then get out I don't want to be in the shower more than I have to and I really like being able to easily comb my hair and have it dry and be silky smooth. But after a few days of not washing my hair after using the Yes to hair products (no I don't wash my hair every day it's not good for your hair) my hair goes back to that icky greasy feeling it could be that my hormones are all over the place right now, I'm not sure, but I didn't need to wash my hair as much when I went no poo.
So I did a bit of browsing around to find out if it indeed is 100% natural .... drum roll please .... big fat NOPE unless you make it yourself from your kitchen and it's infact organic then no it's NOT natural. I had a friend of mine tell me about another "natural" product line that I should try well not only did the high prices drive me away but I did browse around on those too and they aren't 100% natural either so I guess I'm just stuck with having to put in a little extra effort to be more natural. here is a blog link to the other product I was talking about the Arbonne product line: http://www.meghantelpner.com/blog/arbonne-pure-safe-cosmetics/ she talks about how hard it is to find out what it in their products and it is extremly hard to find out I tried getting a hold of the company who makes the new "green" all purpose cleaner for Wal-Mart the Great Value Brand and still have NOT heard back from them. I didn't waste my money with them it was at the most $3 so no biggie there. I made this very yummy avocado salad dressing because as much as I love ranch the store bought ranch is loaded with everything bad for you. And I need to broaden my dressing options. Here is a link to this amazing dressing recipe I found on Pintrest (mind you it doesn't look very yummy it is although it does contain a ton of olive oil and I think I will try a different dressing) http://www.laurawestkong.com/gff/2011/creamy-avocado-vinaigrette/ try it out and let me know what you think or if you have a favorite homemade dressing you love share it with me I'd love to try it out!
.... about what I put in my body or on my body here is my list (some are on "Netflix" if you want to watch them too):
I think there are more but that will get you started if it's something you are interested in. They are very inspiring!! They say fluoride is great for your teeth. Ok yeah, but, what about the rest of your body? You can ingest it if you aren't careful but why risk that? Even if you don't ingest it, it still goes into your bloodstream and is very toxic. As I've talked about (or maybe haven't talked about it but will talk about it now) I started to educate myself on eating better and all that other fun stuff and I was watching a few documentaries that have talked about fluoride and other harmful chemicals introduced to your body via teeth. The movie I'm talking about is "The Gerson Miracle". It talks about fluoride and also talks about the meta fillings they've put in peoples teeth which contains mercury which is very toxic. I thankfully have no metal fillings but if I did I know of a dentist that could safely remove them for me in a safe and non harmful way. Now here is what I use for my homemade toothpaste:
I make up a small amount not any type of of measuring just a small amount of each until it's a paste and add the mint to desired taste. It cleans better than regular toothpaste hands down and is chemical free. It does take a while to get past the bitterness of the baking soda but it's well worth it. While I love the idea of being more natural and making my own things to use for cleaning my body without chemicals, I feel that I wasn't liking how my hair felt after it was dry it still felt a bit like straw. It really worked well on my daughters hair but then again she hasn't had anything done to her hair like dying it darker or bleaching it. I've been using the Yes to Shampoo and giving that a try it organic and chemical free my hair is super soft and I've noticed my skin soft as well but I feel it really cleans better than normal body wash ever had. The only draw back to this is it's very expensive I think almost $9 a bottle oye vey right?!?! but I wanted to give it a shot. I think after I'm done with these I will go back to making my own but going to try and use the castile soaps and using essential oils with those. If you'd also like to try these out they have more than just shampoo, conditioner, and body wash here is a direct link to their site. http://www.yestocarrots.com_
